what are you working on?
For me it's been this new giclee print in the last few days. And I'm happy to say I've been practicing a bit of letting go in honour of those words in that last post. I had an earlier version of this that I was almost happy with. But not quite. So I got tough on myself and culled it. Not easy to do but I do think it has to be done from time to time.
What are you working on? Experiencing any bumpy bits?

I am working on turning a lino print into a screen print. I started by printing onto acetate, think in that I could burn my image directly. It turned out to be too transparent,so i will try tracing over the print with an opaque marker. I might also try other inks (maybe some old oil based ink I have tucked away somewhere. Have you ever tried to do this? Any success?
ReplyDeleteM - no have not tried the process you are describing but it sounds really interesting! I'm a bit of hand cut paper stencil person (or drafting paper as you can wash and re-use it) with screen printing. Good luck with it. Let me know if you take pics of the finished product.
ReplyDeleteYou love a good teapot, don't you?
ReplyDeleteThese are really beautiful colours. So this one's a keeper? What is it that makes this one worth keeping that the last one didn't have?
My main creative outlet is writing, which is really different to the visual arts. You can play around words for ages, and not feel like you lose anything. I'm really more of an assembler when it comes to anything visual. I like to put things together to make something beautiful.
I'm going to launch an online store soon - I am SO excited!! it should be all ready to go in a month or so. It is so hard to say nothing about it. I never have been great at keeping secrets.
Oh, and the store is FULL of bumpy bits. I had no idea how hard it is to start and run a business.
ReplyDeleteST that is so cool about the online shop! Yay for you!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for decisions about what to keep, what to loose, I think what I had earlier was just too simple, too clean. I wanted something with more layers.
You can certainly go crazy with that delete button in writing! :)
I just came across your blog and I think it's a treasure! Just wanted to let you know :)
