something fresh, something green

3 pots of tea, fresh

3 pots of tea, fresh

A new colourway, a re-work of an old favourite, something fresh: three pots of tea, fresh, that is!

My dentist inquired as to whether I drink a lot of green tea. What's a lot? I asked. Apparently I have a slight green tinge to my teeth which they can remove when I get my teeth cleaned there. I like to think green tea is worth the green tinged grin. Do I have any supporters?

Have you saved the 18th December to head on down to Harvest Xmas Market? Hope so. Should be full of goodness + craftiness.

march of the teapots

And then the teapots began to take over.....She was found breathing (just) and buried deep beneath a pile of tea leaves.

Or at least that's what it feels like at the moment with these new giclee prints. It's like I've overdosed on tea (preferably earl grey) and it's done something to the creative part of my brain. Anyway, I've put a paler version (more retro green-blues) in the shop and am toying with putting this much brighter one in soon. I like the desert feel of the orange and vivid blues. It seems to echo images of our current Australian drought. The funny thing is it finally rained in Melbourne last night and is threatening to hail as I write this.

magic cups and flying teapots

It's bit scary for me to put these images out there in the ether. They're such a departure from what I usually do in my prints (both woodblocks and mixed media prints) but in the name of personal and creative growth I'm throwing them out there, and will accept any constructive criticism. What I liked about doing this print was the colours (thanks darling M :) and the playful idea of magic flying cups and teapots. I loved the idea of them picking up their pretty wings and flying off into the night. He heeeeee!

So here it is with a close up too.
