black and white

illustration, dress, black and whiteillustration, black and white, dressillustration, black and white, dressI don't know where these headless dresses are going, do you? I've been drawing these for the last few weeks and they keep multiplying.
spacecraft, screen printAnd this is a close up of one panel out of a set of four purchased from Spacecraft in Gertrude St at their recent sale. Black, grey and white wild fennel screen printed on canvas. To go above our bed. Looks like that wall isn't going to be wallpapered after all. But am I complaining?

  1. I am so impressed with how creative you are in your spare time. Those dresses are very cute - maybe they are pointing to a future in couture for you?

And that Spacecraft piece! I have been yearning to have one of these in my house for several years now. I think I am hoping that someone will buy one for my birthday one year.

I am not a huge fan of wallpaper - it is so hard to change if you change your mind. Spacecraft art is much better!

  2. Hey ST, I think it's funny your think I'm productive in my spare time when to me it seems like I let a lot of time slip through my fingers. Where does it go?

And spacecraft art....hmmmm...... let's hope someone buys you some soon.

  3. Looking forward to seeing what becomes of the headless dresses - you could play with depth and collage perhaps. And I agree that wallpaper is a big commitment, so that wonderful piece is a gerat alternative.

Thanks for your sweet message on my blog too:)

  4. Your dresses remind me of Zentangle art.

  5. The dresses need a branch-like clothesline. They're great. The biggest "tree" in my yard feels like the clothesline sometimes.
And yes, the dos and don'ts are Mad Men-like.
